CUNT PASTE Zine #2 review

CUNT PASTE Zine #2 (England)
2008
58 pages A5 English written
CUNT PASTE Zine belongs to this wave of die-hard zines into old school black, death, thrash metal that don't want to hear about any modern bands or any new metal movement. This rag is headed by two hellbangers who did a quite good job with this second issue (it's just the second but the guys seemed to have a decent underground knowledge!). The interviewed hordes can give you an idea of what this zine is about: DECEPTOR, SADOMATOR, CACODAEMON (probably the last intie by the band), AQUER, ODIUM, IRONFIST and the great CEMETERY URN. Not that much inties but quality is always better than quantity. The chats are rather cool to read even if sometimes it depends on the interviewees' mood or english level.
The reviews are numerous (CD, LP, tapes, EP, zines) but a style like grindcore/grindgore is completely banned. Lot's of stuff from the underworld with cool descriptions (the editor even reviewed my third issue, he definitively has some good taste, ahah!) even if I may miss the meaning of certain expressions. I found pity the guys didn't put more contacts at the end of the reviews although with the help of internet today one is able to find almost everything one's wants.
A stand out point here is the live-reports, many of them can be found with some killer bands one won't probably see on tour in France like NOCTURNAL, GRAVE MIASMA or TERRORAMA, just to name a few.
On the unusual side, you can read reviews of horror movies, but not the Hollywood craps, more old underground movies like « Unhinged » (distributed in France by Uncut Movies). As bonus, the editor tabbed a song by ARCHGOAT « Rise of the black moon » for those of you who can't sleep at night.
A killer cut n' paste zine recommended to any sadistic maniac into the cult of black/death/thrash metal that can't stand the nowaday trendy scene.
