THE ORDHER Weaponize Review

THE ORDHER (Bra) – Weaponize
CD 2007 – Unique Leader Records
11 tracks – 40’01
Rated: 7/10
THE ORDHER is seemingly to be the reunion of ex-members of now split up bands which are NEPHASTH and REBAELLIUN, bands that are supposed to follow a stream that once was created by KRISIUN some years ago. So logically THE ORDHER would be a third zone KRISIUN alike band, increasing the ranks of Unique Leader’s most brutal bands in the world, blablabla… As investigation is certainly more valuable to me than any useless gossips, I had to check it by myself (in the case of this release I have to thank Jean from In Extremis Zine to send it to me!).
THE ORDHER has obviously the Brazilian touch of death metal and obviously can thank KRISIUN for existing. Nevertheless one must admit that even if this release has nothing innovative, it is well done in terms of musicianship with more variation than any of the most boring of the KRISIUN’s clone. THE ORDHER doesn’t always play on the high speed mode and plays more on catchy and changing rhythms and atmospheres reminding MORBID ANGEL. The guitar solos is another good point on this album, using the wha-pedal, they are not here to impress but to enrich the music.
The most strange thing about THE ORDHER is that they are close sounding to another Brazilian death horde called HORNED GOD especially their second album “Chaos, bringer of all revelations”: the music is rather close and even the vocals are confusing by their resemblance.
A cool album to listen to but certainly nothing emotionally exciting, just a good release.
