Well, the same can be said as I wrote above for EBOLA. HELLISH share a similar state of mind concerning their vision of old school metal. Featuring various warriors from the polish underground (BESATT, EMPHERIS, EMBRIONAL and some more obscure acts), HELLISH is no less than a traditional thrash metal influenced band spawned in 2003. This advanced EP is in fact called “Azathoth” and is released on tape by Nihilistic Music, a small label from Brazil.
If the music is clearly rooted in the 80’s/early 90’s thrash metal, HELLISH has this black metal edge that can remind the early SODOM. The drum work as well is quite different from the old days as Morbid who also beats the skin & bones in THRONEUM and BESATT, plays ultra fast beats in HELLISH and brings some hellcome sonic intensity. Despite of this, HELLISH remains a traditional old school black/thrash band that could please devil’s worshippers into WITCHMASTER or DEFLESHED for example but keep in mind that HELLISH also uses slower rhythms close to HELLHAMMER with a close musical primitiveness. Nothing ultimate but a pleasant listening though.
