NECROPSY Bestial anatomy Review

NECROPSY (France) – Bestial anatomy
CD 2008 – Self released
9 tracks – 25'54
Rated: 6,5/10
I reviewed their demo 2006 in my previous issue, nothing putridely astonishing though there was an embryo of brutal potential. The next step after two demo was the album and here it is. A short record for sure but I think it saves NECROPSY from boredom. Usually I am rarely into deathcore but when it's mixed with brutal death with slamming parts that's a pleasant listening for me (not this fake gay deathcore played by some emokids). So NECROPSY is some groovy brutal death core with sometimes grindcore touches or death metal touches but very few.
The tracks are very short, using basic riffs, some of them are pretty catchy, some others are too common. But I guess NECROPSY focuses more on efficiency, and their tracks go in this sense, like a punch in the teeth (the track « decalcification » is the best example). No overtechnicality, here just have a dose of brutality with fast parts and then you're hit by slamming part in the DEVOURMENT and FLESHGRIND vein. NECROPSY's guitar's tuning is although higher than the US brutal death school. The brutal side is more brought by the voice of Gilles with his piggy guttural vokills, he sometimes sung in a more hardcore way which is definitively not the best idea.
NECROPSY is a band able to set the pits on fire, their music is for deathcore freaks who love slamming and mosh-pits. But if you're looking for some graves emanations you're probably reading the wrong review.
