Deadly Illness is the kind of zine you don't have to expect it to be out regularly or soon. My good friend Csaba has no promotional imperatives except his own passion for music (note that I didn't write “metal”). His previous issue really was a good one with its putrefied load of death metal and I like the general tone of it. This time Csaba offers a more varied issue, in fact things he enjoyed lately (even old stuff with this ADRAMELECH interview from 1993). Csaba let's his heart speaks (don't know if this sentence makes sense to you?). Here's an overview about the inties gathered in these xeroxed pages: VASAELETH, BAXAXAXA, BASTARD PRIEST, SWALLOWED, COPROFAGI, ASCENDED, YDINTUHO, REPUKED, OBLITERATION (yeah!), NAUSEANT, WITCHSORROW, GRIND CRUSHER, SONIC RITUAL, DRAINLAND, UNDER AL KRITIK, ADVERSALIAR and AVE MARIA. As you can see, still a stinking dose of death metal, but also punk, grindcore, black metal and doom on lesser quantity, compiled in an ultra sober layout without any fucking adverts or colored shining pictures. The talks are rather short, I don't think it's a matter of laziness, Csaba asks what's really need to be known, and it's true that today with internet everyone's is able to dig anything about the most obscure bands, but a couple more questions wouldn't have been a luxury. No reviews and that's a pity as at least I would clearly know more about the music of the band's featured, but as Csaba told me: “That's life.” Nevermind, even if not reaching the exciting level of his previous issue this 3rd one is worth the bought/trade coz I bet you don't know all the bands inside...or you're a filthy liar!
