EVIL'S BEST Zine #2 (Israel)

Nice little zine coming from the unholy land of IsraHell and headed by a devoted metalhead named Sergei. At first while getting quickly through the pages of the zine I thought I wouldn't read further coz it probably fits anyone who checks regularly the NWN! Forum. I mean Evil's Best focuses on old death, thrash (especially), black or heavy shit. Luckily, Sergei collected some cool inties and even investigates his homeland.
So beyond the two excellent chats with HOD and SUPERCHRIST, Sergei features bands from Israel like STRIDENT, MORBID TENDANCY, TANGORODRIM and GOLGOLOT or Lebanon with THRASH STORM. The rest of the inties are not really surprising: ANCIENT RITES, SACRIFICIAL BLOOD, GEHENNAH, APOCALYPTIC RAIDS except for CRUSHING JACKHAMMER, RECRUCIFY or DEAD TO THIS WORLD.
The reviews section is also quite predictable, Sergei talks about stuff he enjoys mostly so that's why there's only one review rated 5/10, the rest is awfully overrated!! with a lot of 9/10!!
The whole lay-out is clear, Word made, simple but enjoyable to read, maybe it's possible to add darker backgrounds.
Don't get me wrong, this zine is not bad, it's just that I'm not too much into its content, but I guess there is a readership for this zine, so I'm not upset about that. Sergei is able to conduct good interviews but he must be more criticizing while writing his reviews, there are tons of CD released each months and everything is far from reaching the average.
This said, get in touch, the 3rd issue is out while I'm writing this.
