Zombified in 2007 these two undead dudes from California have an obsession for the dead, especially those revived with an appetite for human flesh. BEING KILLED is a death/grind project, quite brutal, using and abusing the drum machine, probably the negative point of the this release as well as originality. But for those seeking some brainless brutality, they probably feel pleased with these 20 death/grind assaults. The whole production is rather powerful and each track hits you right in the face without mercy and this is also due to this incessant drum pounding close to a jackhammer and drilling your head until it explodes (or is it a headache?), arghh! You just have to endure the mechanical side of the drum machine. BEING KILLED can be seen as the meeting of VIRAL LOAD and ANTROPOFAGUS (probably the closest band to BEING KILLED). The vocals sometimes can remind LUST OF DECAY and are a bit monotonous; I think a more guttural one would be deadlier.
Coming with a killer artwork, it's a pity BEING KILLED doesn't dig a more putrid approach of death metal instead of this tasteless brutality. For brutal freaks only.
