TRIBAL CONVICTIONS Zine #1 review

TRIBAL CONVICTIONS Zine #1(Poland)
2009?
28 pages A4 - English written

Tribal Convictions Zine (whose name comes from Dimension Hatröss?) is an old idea of zine by the editor Robert who heads the label Psycho Records and takes part of Psychozine webzine. This first attempt looks promising for a try out, the whole zine is built on the same scheme, on two-columned pages, mostly in black & white but with some colors pictures here and there, I guess Robert prints them with his own home printer. It's a pretty sober lay out but it makes it easy to read (don't expect more than half an hour on the shitter, ahah!).
In fact the most uncomfortable thing while reading Tribal Convictions Zine is the english language. And Robert is aware of that. Sometimes it's really hard to understand the questions and you can feel a bit puzzled, thinking where Robert wanted to go. Hopefully when the interviewees have things to say, it turns out really good (EVOCATION or REVENGE) or on the contrary it ends up disappointing (UNBURIED, KARNARIUM...). You find 6 inties, those belows plus THE DAMNATION and PANDEMONIUM.
The reviews (rated out of 6) are quite long but very hard to understand, but at least you understand when the editor likes it or not. I think Robert could do a decent if he would simplify his sentences a bit instead of using complicated words or some I never saw before and that don't help to catch the whole sentence's meaning.
It's a first attempt with good points and bad ones, but the will is here, so let's see if the next issue will kick asses or drown you in confusion again.
