Another putrefactive dose of necrometallic substance? Here is the last issue of the year 2008 by Lord Skalpel. So once again expect a huge load of reviews as usual with some more or less mainstream stuff and ultra underground music, the zines reviews remains a source of great informations for me. One may reproach the too much positive aspect of Adam's review, well I think it's more a matter of passion and anyway I am more into the informative side of the review than bashing for the sake of it.
On the interviews side, once again you'll find quite unknown acts like SWAMP from Greece, PAGANFIRE, DEEP VEIN, AUTOPSY (yes the cult band, a cool intie with Chris Reifert, I guess you're happy to be the luckiest motherfucker on earth Adam? Arghhhh!!), SANGUINEOUS, DEATHINVOKER (those both bands are featured in the 4th issue of PEZ, a sign of good taste, ahah!), OVEROTH, FORCE OF DARKNESS, REVENGE from Greece, DEAD CONGREGATION and UNAUSSPRECHLICHEN KULTEN. The inties are, as usual, long and detailed and still the bands are mostly (and fortunately) talkative and that's enjoyable to read them (if you're into their stuff also, it's even better).
This issue doesn't contain the usual « Tape traders... » article but instead Adam wrote two short articles: « Metal or business » and « Atmosphere has not gone », cool reading about Adam's thoughts but there are also some viewpoints than can be discussed.
Some live reports appear as well from Adam's correspondants: Pure Fucking Darkness Festival in New York and Hungarian Blitzkrieg Assaults.
The lay out and graphic side of the zine remains very poor but it is compensated by a ton of writing maybe too much for the metal newbie but a real source of information and contacts for the child of the underworld.
