Arghhh, is this the same band whose I reviewed their demo 2005 in PEZ #3?? Hell yeah, if it could sound chaotic and raw back then, C16YOV comes back with a more punchy release of serial killing old school death/grind. “Reek of putrefaction” came immediately to mind because of similarities like very short songs right to the point, pure grind parts and slower death metal alike ones and many types of vocals: guttural, distorted, screamed, vomited, suffocated, … This release is the resulting effort of three deranged grinders who aren’t here to play the nice guys but certainly more to chop you limb by limb. Expect dirty insane music for boozed and stinking maniacs and certainly not for shampoo smelling metallers if you see what I mean. The music itself can sometimes be just old school grindcore, death/grind, crust/punk/thrash, or death/doom alike with the ultra heavy “My own victim”. The guitar sound is just perfect, low tuned, filthy but at the same time powerful and audible. Sure this is not the most outstanding grind/death release but a release any grind bastard is advised to listen to if you dig BRUTAL TRUTH, ABSCESS, early CARCASS and NAPALM DEATH.
