RESISTANCE Bang your fucking skull Review

RESISTANCE (Fr) – Bang your fucking skull
CD 2008 – Emanes Metal Records
10 tracks – 45’36
Rated: 8/10

The band didn’t waste its time after a cool demo they throw you this first album right in your face. There’s no need to say that if you enjoy the demo, this release will drive you crazy as everything gets better. The analogical sound is good enough and not retro as some of you may think. Their heavy/thrash metal focuses on a traditional way of playing with a lot of catchy riffs ideal for partying, drinking beers and banging your fucking head, a bit like some old TESTAMENT releases. Be warned, this is not some fucking faggot power metal but real heavy/thrash metal with balls aiming at decimating gothposers by dozens.
Nathaniel’s vocals are awesome, they sound much better than the demo, always in his very own way of singing, low vocals, sometimes more thrashy, I was blown away by the MANILLA ROAD cover “Necropolis”, this song kills and integrates greatly “Bang your fucking skull”.
The musicians behind do a good job as well (one guitar, one bass guitar and drums of course). If I mention this, it is because that every instrument is listenable and has its place: during the guitar solos, there are no rhythm guitars, the bass does its duty and that’s a good thing.
This release brings a bit of freshness in our French heavy/thrash scene that has now another serious defender with KILLERS.
