YDIN (Fin) – Live at 45special, Oulu, Finland

Here’s a gig captured at Oulu in Finland (7/3/2007) with a very good sound and image quality, quite impressive because YDIN is still a self released band so I still wonder when labels will clean the shit out of their ears instead of releasing melodeath clones.
YDIN is a cold brutal death band with a razorsharp sound, and singing in Finnish, so you can expect a rather personal style even if not the band of the year. YDIN displays a set composed of both demos (actually they have released a third demo but I haven’t heard it yet) all along a very intense performance. Despite the fact that YDIN’s musician are quite static but tight, some fury emanates from their music as well as a certain coldness not far from the black metal, but YDIN is definitively a death metal band, between DIABOLIC and PANZERCHRIST plus the Finnish frozen touch.
I was amused to realize that people at gigs are almost quiet during YDIN’s set (no slams or raging pit), I don’t know YDIN’s “success” in Finland but that’s pitiful to witness somekind of low interest, here we have just a polite clap at the end of each track, but that’s just my impression after all.
The DVD also features some extra videos from older times (2004 & 2005) and both demos in audio format, what else do you want? Well, a full length would be a good idea as the band is mature and professional enough.
