BRUTAL REBIRTH Hate over all Review

BRUTAL REBIRTH (France) – Hate over all
CD 2008 – Trendkill Recordings
10 tracks – 37'07
Rated: 5/10

A very young who released its first album one year only after its birth without any demo, the guys didn't want to waste time but they were probably a bit too much in a rush. Not that the guys are not skillfull but I feel listening to an album that has been recorded for the sake of recording one.
One thing that catches my attention is the fact that Charognard from CHARNIER plays drums in BRUTAL REBIRTH, so you can imagine that the drum job should be good, and it is.
BRUTAL REBIRTH instead of CHARNIER plays some really heavy death metal, in the old school vein, reminding warmasters of BOLTTHROWER and even sometimes old UNLEASHED. Very heavy and massive riffs, with lot of double kickdrums, guttural voice, blast beats in the old BOLTTHROWER way, the band would lie telling it's not an influence. Among this I also detected some slower parts in the OBITUARY or old SIX FEET UNDER vein, efficient but nothing deadly though.
And here you have a good record professionaly done but where the band didn't inject or establish its own personality or soul. You listen to it but nothing really remains except something like: « well er... it's cool. » I think the band didn't take the time to work their tracks and make them memorable.
The basis are there but that's not enough to impress, it just lacks of real bullets in the guns than blank cartridges.
