Completely unknown to me until today, VEDONIST is a death metal hailing from Poland. This album is a very professional release and that’s just half surprising when you see (and hear) what’s coming from this country actually. Poland has still their veterans around like VADER, BEHEMOTH, TRAUMA (even if I didn’t heard about their last releases), HATE … Just after came a wave a highly skilled newcomers with well produced releases, bands such as ABUSED MAJESTY, CRIONICS, DEVILISH IMPRESSIONS and the likes, but the fact is that their music is a quite uninspired black /death metal.
VEDONIST is a bit in this vein but more death metal oriented with heavy/thrash influences (a bit too happy for me so I guess they like some Swedish heavy/death) and not into will of absolute speed, mostly mid paced.
VEDONIST has its good moments when they play death metal in the DEICIDE vein but when they come with their heavy metal long parts with endless happy solos, it used to be a bit boring as it weakened the aggressive impact of the music. Listening to 3 or 4 tracks is ok, more is synonym of boredom, because some rhythmic parts are a bit too common and still heard. If you’re looking for a well balanced mixture of death metal and Swedish heavy/death, VEDONIST are able to please you.
