Marcelo's fist issue made a really good impression on me, not a perfect issue though but I like the motivation and passion he showed. The way he dug south american UG to feature unknown acts was another good point. So I welcome this second issue quite gladly. The zine looks really good, keeping an old school spirit but done with modern tools: computterized cut n' paste and typewriter fonts with nice borders, that made the whole zine clear looking and comfortable to read. So visually speaking you're not wasting your money.
About the content, well you find everything a normal printzine shall belong: inties, reviews and reports. You can read 9 interviews with BESTIAL HOLOCAUST, UNAUSSPRECHLICHEN KULTEN, DEATH INVOKER, MANTHRA, MOBILIZER, PAGANFIRE, DEEP VEIN, TERROR STRIKE and WITCHCURSE. The chats are worked even if I'm not always in Marcelo's way of questioning (especially when he goes a bit out of the musical sphere but that's a matter of taste as usual...) but as you can see there are many unknown bands.
A lot of reviews into CD and tapes ( a lot of south american stuff is featured, sometimes it lacks of references just to situate the band's style, but I guess Marcelo wasn't interested by the stuff...), zines reviews (quite a lot, many south american rags, a pity my spanish is so weak) and live-reports (about VULCANO, SODOM and MEGADETH).
Marcelo also put a personal article about letters he get from people, “weird letters”, from a fake radio owner, an autograph collector, a trader who seems to be a rip-off and a guy who was in jail back then but who's free now and who is my buddy Ricky of Burning Dogma Records, certainly not a rip-off!! I guess Ricky get Demons Jail Zine's contact in PEZ#3.
Here's a worthy zine, who improved a lot visually even if I'm more into the first issue concerning the content. Anyway, if you need a cool underground exposure in Chile (300 copies are printed) Demons Jail Zine is the zine that is worth sending your stuff. Trades are of course welcome, and if you want to hear good techno-thrash metal in the CORONER vein, ask Marcelo about his band PERVERTED SON.
