PERVERTED SON To the abstract Review

PERVERTED SON (Chile) – To the abstract
MCD 2006 – Self Released
5 tracks – 20'16
Rated: 8/10
Getting out from nowhere with an unexpected style, PERVERTED SON is a good surprise as the band can be considered as an anachronism is the actual scene. Today where modern pseudo-metal or whatever you call it, where death metal, black metal, doom metal (?) rule the scene how different can be considered PERVERTED SON?
The guys play what they like, that’s obvious they don’t care what’s popular today or not. They are stuck in the early 90’s where the reverb was an essential part of a record production, where perfection didn’t matter (I don’t mean the guys can’t handle their instruments properly, I think they could easily give some lessons to some nu-metal kids, but the MCD production isn’t “top notch” like professionals would dare to say.).
Techno thrash metal in its majestic form with real mastery and a metal attitude! Think about old records you cherish back then, yes go back earlier to “Malleus Maleficarum” PESTILENCE, CORONER and ATHEIST showed the way that primitiveness was not the only way to play metal, but that one could go further on adventurous grounds.
PERVERTED SON chose this period of metallic evolution with an elaborated music and concept. The whole lacks a bit of aggressiveness but that’s a first step to show what they are able. People into old school technical stuff shall not miss this.
