You cannot get mistaken by such a demo title. So “Rotting” is a death metal demo from four Finnish gravediggers. This modest demo is not bad though it lacks a bit of highlights, maybe this thrashy side as well as that razor sharp guitar sound can make them apart the current death metal scene from Finland.
You must wait the second track to feel that particular Finnish coldness with a suicidal melody at the end of “Wild vile west”.
So GORETEXX is not like its ancestors of creeping obscure death metal nor brutal death, but more into some death/thrash metal. Maybe only the deep growls kept the traditional putrid death touch.
But sometimes, GORETEXX riffs are a bit too common and would have needed more fermentation. Not a bad debut but nothing deadly enough. Improvement is awaited and they are more than able to progress the right way.
