It’s always cool to review stuff from the Eastern Europe, as you never know how it can take you by surprise or completely disappoint you. This scene is quite active no matter how extreme music is popular, so the guys really played what they like instead of what’s trendy.
KILL YOUR FAITH hails from Hungary and doesn’t play death or black metal. So what?
Here we have some death/grindcore, quite groovy and in the old school way. I mean it’s not today’s grindcore with 1 minute long song with only blast beats. In the case of KILL YOUR FAITH they are more into early stuff of NAPALM DEATH, BRUTAL TRUTH, TERRORIZER and they have many parts of hardcore/punk style. The tempo on this release is mostly medium with very few moments of speed and that’s maybe their major default.
The voice isn’t typical of grindcore mania but more guttural in the death metal way, pretty monotonous, without real variation.
That’s not stuff I use to listen to, but if you’re into hardcore/grind stuff you may find an interest in KILL YOUR FAITH. I just recommend the band to have more speedy parts just to put the moshpit on fire.
