KLOOTZAK (Fra) – Huan
MCD 2008 – Self released
6 tracks – 30'45
Rated: 6/10
I talked about KLOOTZAK in the previous issue about their demo 2005 and they are still faithful to their traditional heavy metal which was played in the 80’s/early 90’s. Said this I would just to mention this actual heavy metal revival that occurs in France actually: recently many old French have reformed SORTILEGE, ADX, BLASPHEME, etc and everybody is happy with that, great! So why people don’t give a fuck about them 10/15 years? And today everybody find it cool to listen to traditional heavy metal. Fucking trend once again. Watch out for the black metal revival soon.
KLOOTZAK doesn’t belong to this circus, they play honest heavy metal and despite the “vintage” production, these six compositions have some potential for any drunk headbanger.
They have classical structures for heavy metal style which in fact a matter of entertainment and catchiness. They play in the way of early IRON MAIDEN, DIO and early JUDAS PRIEST. So of course some mistakes are here to remind this is a self produced release: the sound lacks a bit of power, some high-pitched vocals went sometimes out of control (Facing destiny) but on the whole I think there are enough qualities to make you forget the mistakes (and then to get this nice MCD!).
