OCCIDENS Glorification of the antichrist Review

OCCIDENS (Chile) – Glorification of the antichrist
CD 2007 – Deathgasm Records
12 tracks – 37’34
Rated: 6/10

Chilean horde delivers a nuclear warfare with this release, just after a short quiet but upsetting theme, the blast-beats deluge of wrathful black/death metal hit your head relentlessly until your total mental annihilation (or complete boredom if you’re looking for more progressive stuff, but in this case you read the wrong publication). War, demonical domination and the Nazarene’s ships execution are their main motives so sociological matters are not for today.
A quite intense and violent release with lots of fast parts due to the incessant drum pounding (skins beaten by MELEK TAUS drummer, a nice guy really!), fast typical guitar riffs, fast solos but hellcome indeed, christreaping vocals, all elements respectful of the truest warriors of black metal. I am a bit mocking the band but I must say I like this release because of its intensity and because it’s well done, not original though. MARDUK can hide with their so called ultra violent “Panzer Division Marduk”. OCCIDENS is much more aggressive and offers different breaks in its music. Think about a mixture of MARDUK and BELPHEGOR, at least if you enjoy those bands you can listen to “Glorification…”.
How lucky you are as the previous MCD “Descending of the fire hordes” is added as bonus; tracks are a bit rawer than the CD but still OCCIDENS had the weapons to kick some asses.
