CEREBRAL EFFUSION Smashed & splattered organs Review

CEREBRAL EFFUSION (Spa) – Smashed & splattered organs
CD 2005 – Goregiastic Records
9 tracks – 29’11
Rated: 7/10

We can’t say CEREBRAL EFFUSION is the most outstanding act concerning brutal death metal highly US style influenced. Nevertheless, where bands like PUSTULATED released very lame album, band like CEREBRAL EFFUSION recorded a quite good release with this second album. Maybe you can call this ultra-cliché brutal death metal but the tracks are rather technical and well built, and with enough groove to deserve some interest or at list a single listening to get convince (except if you hate this style of course).
If you enjoy the “Tomb of the mutilated” by CANNIBAL CORPSE and are looking for something more brutal but at the same time the similar musical variations then “Smashed…” had some good moments to rip your guts apart! And to tell you the truth don’t prepare yourself for a bloodbath, better a gutsbath.
Vocalist’s low guttural grunts are a mix of Chris Barnes and Dave Rotten, and he sometimes vomits some piggy screams.
CEREBRAL EFFUSION never sounds chaotic during the fast parts and is convincing by the use of many mid tempos or some slamming ones.
I can only blame them by the absence of guitar solos but it’s only to add a negative point as this is their best release so far and is recommended for anyone getting any interest for them.
