I’ve got a deal with Scotland or what, ah here’s another rag coming from Scotland and this one is more oriented into my favourite kind of music. DEHUMANIZED Zine focuses mostly on death fucking metal. Ross the editor is a die-hard fan of the style, so dedicated that he almost reviews stuff he likes as hell! You can read about recent released stuff from death, thrash, heavy, doom, no real surprises (except this disappointing review about MNEMIC, how such a trendy and shitty band can appear in an underground publication?) as he likes ‘em all, though you can also read about more underground shit even if more demos would be also welcome. Ross also writes about old stuff but that’s for metal newbies only as every real metal head owns those releases (No? And you dare to call yourself a metal head, ahah!)
About the interviews, well you can read chats with DESECRATION (4th appearance in DEHUMANIZED Zine but Ollie isn’t really talkative as usual), HELLSPAWN, INSISION, PEACEVILLE Records and DESTRUCTORS 666 (a punk band). The interviews are rather short (ten questions) and depends on the guys’ mood so sometimes you can read them quickly while you’re on the shitter. That’s not enough for my underground thirst but one must know that Ross did all his interviews by snail mail and if you take into account the laziness of the actual so called underground bands (actually I am still waiting for 4 interviews to get replied! And I send them by emails!!) I can understand he doesn’t want to bother himself more than this.
So it’s just a cool zine with dedication, some humour but don’t expect sensational discoveries or groundbreaking readings.
