BLACK SISTER demo 2007 review

BLACK SISTER (Scot) – Demo 2007
Demo CD 2007 – Self Released
5 tracks – 9’56
Rated: 6/10

From the most impious place of Scotland hails the sinister thrashing horde named BLACK SISTER. Five short and ripping songs of old blackened thrash metal. By this I mean that they are not into black thrash like CARPATHIAN FOREST for example but more into the debut bands of early violent thrash metal like KREATOR. BLACK SISTER has also a punk influence with the very shortness of their song: right to the point with simple but vicious guitar riffs.
The very high screamed vocals can remind a bit of what ABSU does on their black thrash releases.
This is their first demo and to tell the truth it’s not bad at all. Maybe I need more music to really evaluate the band’s potential. I think the band wouldn’t lose credit with longer song, if they could reach three minutes each it wouldn’t bore more than this. Maybe they don’t want to be too repetitive bit in that case with songs around two minutes they will need 15 tracks to reach half an hour.
However, fans of old blackened thrash should check this out.
