After a split CD with their landmates ATAVISM, PUTREFIED GENITALIA dropped this 4-track promo CD to announce an upcoming full length in 2007. For those who don’t have a clue about these putridity worshippers, PUTREFIED GENITALIA is an underground greek act of brutal death metal displaying very heavy putrid death metal reminding old MORTICIAN style.
But it would be quite reductive to claim they are just a stupid clone of the US deathsters. They certainly share the taste for rotten flesh and horror, maybe low tuned guitars as well. But definitively PUTREFIED GENITALIA has their own touch in chopping limbs!
They don’t play full blast stuff quite boring on a long basis, but as explain before, emphasize on a sinister heaviness strengthened by quite simple but welcome guitar solos that fit perfectly the mood of the songs. The vocals are in the pure early INCANTATION vein, very low and guttural, I like them very much.
This balance between fast parts and more creeping moments shall anticipate an interesting upcoming release for fans of brutal and obscure death metal the way it should be. Let there be rot.
