Active for some years in the French underground NECROPSY is certainly not unknown because one of the members, Gil, is an ex HAPPY FACE (hardcore grind) and is “famous” by his incredibly low guttural voice. So some may find resemblances with HAPPY FACE although NECROPSY is more brutal death/grind oriented.
Rural conditions demand rural responses can be NECROPSY’s motto with their countryside fun. This shit apart, NECROPSY is a quite brutal death band with quite simple riffs and structures where the search of groove is certainly their most obvious intent.
I guess people into US brutal and slamming death metal may find some interest in NECROPSY even if they are less low tuned than DEVOURMENT and don’t use triggered drums (that’s probably the rural conditions mentioned above!).
Vocals are really amazing, very low and guttural, sometimes it gives a real chaotic result as he relentlessly vomits, screams, regurgitates all along the tracks and sometimes he uses is voice in a very groovy manner even in a hardcorish way.
Not really my cup of beer, but guys into shit like SCREAMING AFTERBIRTH or any primitive death/grind should check NECROPSY.
