Finally Nihilistic Holocaust strikes back after a short pause in releasing anything. Gab seems to find some excitement again in his DIY propaganda so his new release offers a death metal strike only in an ear destruction goal.
IMPUREZA set up hostility with its demo 2007 which was reviewed in PE#3, so get it: powerful and quite brutal death metal in the IMMOLATION & NILE vein with flamenco touches and sung in Spanish. I think they really deserved to get a deal as mastery and professionalism are definitively there.
ARSONIST is a good discovery, Swedish brutal death metal reminding bands like DERANGED and IMMERSED IN BLOOD. They are displaying brutal and rather technical songs with ounces of groove and kick ass guitar-solos. On contrary to the bands mentioned above, ARSONIST has the good idea to add slower, heavier and darker parts a bit à la IMMOLATION. 3 quite short tracks taken from their demo 2006.
SUDDEN DEATH seems to have release some stuff before their part of the split which is their album 2007. It’s good to see a band like them who doesn’t hesitate to keep links in the underground and participates in DIY release. Well, I must say I am not too much in their death/grind metal. Their riffs are too common to me. Maybe this is due to their guitar sound I don’t like. They can remind the latest releases of NAPALM DEATH but I don’t feel the same energy and the voice lacks of bloodthirsty intentions. Average stuff.
With such a moniker I guess it doesn’t make you wanting to listen to INGURGITATING OBLIVION, you’re awfully wrong. I can only recommend you to get their first 2005 album “Voyage towards abhorrence” with is an amazing piece of dark and twisted brutal death metal. Here you can enjoy their demo 2004 which afforded them to get signed by Unmatched Brutality Records. Listen to a track like “Veil of perception” to only be convinced by the band’s creativeness potential. If names like IMMOLATION, MORBID ANGEL, and GORGUTS generates any interest in you, imagine INGURGITATING OBLIVION can gather the best of each band mentioned. Don’t try to discuss my point of view but get their stuff instead.
